Preliminary research results presented by AQUAREDPOT researcher
European Percid Fish Culturist EPFC group is the EAS thematic group on the culture of pikeperch, perch and other species of the family percidae for human consumption, stocking and conservation. This year workshop named “Big is beautiful - isn’t it?” took place on 20th of October in Rotterdam. AQUAREDPOT researcher Uroš Ljubobratović presented results achieved by his research team in NARIC HAKI on the influence of early domestication on the pikeperch culture. Oral presentation was given under the title “Reproduction of intensively reared and wild pikeperch breeders and performance of their offspring - preliminary data”. Results are suggesting that usage of intensively reared breeders from Hungary may be feasible for the commercial scale larval production and that juveniles of such background may be an important step in the further development of the culture.
