The AQUAREDPOT project is funded by the EU’s FP7 Research Potential programme. The strategic objective of the project is to help the NARIC HAKI to become a regonal leader in freshwater aquaculture research. In the frame of the project, NARIC HAKI will acquire new knowledge, competencies in the field of research, innovation and Intellectual Property (IP) development, build strategic partnerships with outstanding partner organisations, mobilise human resources, enhance research capacity and develope its research infrastructure. These will result a significant increase in its influence over regional aquaculture development and better integration in the European Research Area. In addition, it will broaden its scope for international co-operation and subsequently, the Institute will act as a driving force for technological development thereby improving fish farming in the region and beyond.
